This Old Garrison

Looking forward to our new "Home" in Azeroth. Regular updates on Saturday.

Warlords Alpha

It has begun!  There’s even been a set of patch notes released for the Alpha, with it’s own section dedicated specifically for garrisons!

Granted, that section is a little small right now, and it doesn’t contain much in the way of new info.  But it’s early yet.  I’m taking this as a good sign that  more information will start to slowly come to us.  Honestly I think they had the right idea focusing more on the bigger changes coming to classes and races.

As far as the new info it does give us, it would appear that we’ll be able to start working on our garrisons shortly after we arrive in Draenor.  Or at the very least, before we leave the “starting” zones for our factions in the new expansion.  I don’t know if we were ever told before at what point we’d gain access to our garrisons.  I like this bit of news.  It would seem rather odd to start working on our place of refuge from the savage savageness of the savage world of savage Draenor only once our characters hit the new level cap.

That said, a let us end with a few public service announcements:

  1. Don’t be in such a rush to get in that you risk your account’s safety.  Beware of phishing attempts offering you Alpha access just so they can get your account login information.
  2. Remember that this is just the very start of Alpha.  Nothing is set in stone.  As news comes out, chances are there will be some bit of news that angers you.  Just take a deep breath, relax, and keep in mind that the change you hate may still change before it has an effect on your actual game play.
  3. I doubt I have to say this, but just to be on the safe side:  No, I do not have Alpha access.  For myself or to hand out to others.  I will be patiently waiting with the rest of you for Blizzard to eventually let me into testing.  Whenever that is.  Most likely when they hit beta if at all.
